This full length motion picture was the first of two movies based on the popular TV western series. Created by George W. Trendle and written by Fran Striker This one was filmed at the Kanab Movie Ranch in Kanab, Utah. Many of the final color episodes of the TV series were also filmed at this location. Uncle Clayton did most of his own stunts in the film. But due to insurance concerns. He was not allowed to do all of them. The attached photo shows Tonto restraining Angry Horse.
Tonto Shows Evidence
In this scene. Some of the local rancher's cattle have been killed or stolen. Tonto shows some of the arrows found in the cattle to Red Hawk chief of the tribe. Angry Horse, Played by Micheal Ansara looks on. He's the hot headed warrior who wants to fight the white man. The attached b/w photo shows The Ranger and Tonto at the indian camp just before they talk with Red Hawk.
Ranger to the Rescue
Red Hawk becomes ill. Angry Horse makes himself chief He decides to capture Lila, daughter of the land baron, and hold her captive. The Ranger fights Angry Horse to free the little girl and to make Angry Horse look foolish in the eyes of his people. The attached B/W photo is another shot of the fight.

A Family Reunion
After winning the fight. The Ranger returns Lila to her home and mother, Ms Kilgore, played by
Bonita Grandville. Ms Granville starred in and co-produced the movie with Her husband Jack Wrather. The little girl, Lila is played by actress Beverly Washburn. Ms Washburn was in another of my favorite movies. Disney's'OLD YELLER.' She has been a busy actress. She has appeared on many popular TV shows includingSuperman. She worked with Jack Webb on Dragnet Her mentor was Jack Benny Click on her name above and find your favorite Movie or TV show that she worked on. The attached photo shows Lila and Ms Kilgore.
